About Us

The Glenview Mentoring Program is the brainchild of the Young Professionals Group, a segment of Glenview’s Chamber of Commerce. It’s a micro-mentoring program that invites young people to spend time learning about a specific profession, field of work, or line of business. Offering options for animal lovers,  numbers people, the mechanically inclined,  and more, the program is an investment in the community’s growth and well-being.
If you’re a student, what are you waiting for? Dive into our list of options.
If you’re a parent or teacher, learn more about what we do.
Why we do it

Positive Exposure = Opportunity

The Village of Glenview is a community that takes pride in supporting and investing in the stability and well-being of its inhabitants. There is no better way of doing this than helping to co-create a positive future for our youth.

How does it work?

Parents, counselors, and teachers who feel they might have a student in need of motivation and perspective, can search through a database of participating local business who will offer an hour or two of their time to help micro-mentor a young person from the community.

Biographical Info

Dr. Bob is a native of Massachusetts (there is still a bit of an accent!) who attended dental school at the University of Pennsylvania. After receiving his Doctorate in Dental Medicine, he then completed a two year residency at Children’s Memorial Medical Center and a three year Masters program at Northwestern University Dental School.
In 1982 and after several years of extensive examinations, Dr. Bob earned status as a Diplomate of the American Board and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He joined over a thousand of his colleagues who attained this award. Dr. Bob is currently an assistant clinical professor at Northwestern University Medical School and a senior attending practitioner at Ann & Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital (over 37 years) and NorthShore University Healthcare Systems Hospital  (formerly the Evanston / Glenbrook Hospitals for over 36 years).
He has lectured and participated in numerous clinical programs sponsored by dental organizations. Dr. Bob has been married for over forty-four years and is the father of two adult children. He has interests in soccer, research, technology (all phases of pediatric dentistry and laser dentistry) and has served the North Shore with his own private practice since 1980. Dr. Bob’s practice, though pediatric in nature, has evolved to encompass many special needs patients of all ages and geriatric patients who are medically compromised.
Dr. Bob has lived in Glenview since 1988 and currently is in his 26th season  as a AYSO soccer referee.  He is a certified therapy dog handler and volunteers  his dogs “Faedan” and “Dillon”  (both cocker spaniels) at visits to libraries and senior homes. He also uses his therapy dogs at his office for his young and special needs patients to enjoy.
