Virginia TruxAt Properties
Virginia Trux grew up in Winnetka and graduated New Trier High School and attended the University of Kansas. After college, she taught figure skating, managed Ben & Jerry’s in the city and opened Blockbuster Video Stores in a three-state region. Her interest in real estate started in her early twenties.
After earning her license, Virginia started as an office receptionist in Evanston. Her attention to detail and ability to multi task while prioritizing on the go advanced her to office manager within months. After time, she moved to the corporate office where she first worked in the builder marketing department then managed the closing department before leaving to have children.
She went into sales with small children. For Virginia, the best part of the job was the flexible hours – she could be waiting for her children as they came off the bus and as well as volunteer to be the soccer mom. Now, fifteen years later, Virginia continues to enjoy being a real estate broker but feels that it is important to give back. She serves on a number of boards and is very active in Glenview.
If you were to visit Virginia at work you would see that each day is different and the tasks and priorities vary. There are a lot of moving parts to having your own business – marketing, advertising, customer service, branding, budgeting, prospecting, planning and prepping to name a few. There is also continuing education annual requirements as well as staying ahead in your field. If you are interested in having your own business and you are self-motivated, real estate sales just may be a great choice for you. I welcome all opportunities to answer questions.
