As a community-based micro-mentoring program, Glenview Mentoring focuses on the future: What does you son or daughter want to do? How can he pursue his interests? How can she build on her strengths?
With one-on-one sessions with Glenview Chamber of Commerce members, your teen can explore different industries and career paths.
As part of these 1-2 hour sessions, kids learn about the history of a particular profession, what the profession looks like today, and where the representative feels the industry is going. Here are the essentials:

All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
All sessions are by appointment only, and all appointments are made through the Chamber.
All the businesses go through our training program, ensuring that they help your student get the most out of the program.
All the businesses are current members of the Glenview Chamber of Commerce.

Glenview Mentoring is a community based micro-mentoring resource supporting Glenview's youth. This free resource provides an opportunity for kids to learn about different industries and career paths by connecting one on one with local business owners and business representatives.

These 1-2 hour micro-mentoring appointments are fcused on exposing kids to the history of a particular profession, what the profession looks like today, and where the representative feels the industry is going, all through the eyes and experience of someone who is currently working in that industry.

Exposure like this is invaluable because it can either help to reaffirm your students interest in a particular industry or profession, help them realize that a profession may or may not be for them, or introduce your student to an industry or profession they did not know existed.
