Biographical Info

Jill Brickman grew up in Glenview. Her interest in government and social service work

started young, being involved with political campaigns starting in 8th grade and helping her parents volunteer much earlier than that.  She was asked to serve on Northfield Township’s Human Services Review Commission and within three years was elected as a township trustee.

For her, the best part of being township supervisor is the opportunities it provides to work with other people to serve her neighbors.

Jill graduated from Knox College with a liberal arts degree and a major in economics.  She worked in the financial world for about 20 years.

Jill has been township supervisor for 16 years, and previously owned her own business for 13 years.  In her township role she has chaired the Glenbrook Hospital Community Advisory Committee and the Glenview Values Project and served on the boards of Glenview Elderly Programs North, the Northwest Municipal Conference, the Cook County Public Aid Committee and more.  She is active in a variety of things, including Rotary, teaching money management to homeless people, dog rescue and her church.

Visitors to Jill’s place of business will see how municipal government works and the ongoing effort to minimize costs while providing important services. Observing the food pantry in action will help with how a social service agency works toward continually improving so it can serve people in need using finite resources and how it raises awareness of that need in an affluent community.
